Can I borrow your eyes?
I see darkness,
You see light.
I see anguish,
You see life.
I see an empty path,
Dark, and full of shadows,
Obstacles that never end,
And drag me down to sorrow.
A glowing path is what you see,
You see around me, light true and clear,
Potential immeasurable lying inside,
To give rise to wings, upon which to glide.
Can I borrow your eyes?
The future I see is dark and cold,
To sleep in bed, each night, alone,
No gentle kiss good morn or night,
No one to hold me, when I’m full of fright.
You see one that is bright and warm,
A life full of friendship and love,
Warm arms around me, to give care,
Someone to which, my soul, I can bare.
Can I borrow your eyes?
